XEMATest LUPIN

Lupin is a genus belonging to the family which also includes beans, pea, chickpeas, alfalfa and soy. Several species of lupin are cultivated worldwide for food and animal feed.

Lupin allergy can display the variety of symptoms from mild oral allergy to severe life-threatening systemic reactions, i.e. anaphylactic shock or bronchial asthma. Lupin is closely related antigenically to peanut which in turn is one of the most frequent and important food allergies.

In EU, lupin is included into to the list of allergens established by European Food Safety Authority, which must be indicated in foods according to EU Law.

XEMATest LUPIN does not detect the antigens of related pulses including peanut, peas, beans etc.
