Phosphatesmo MI – Rapid Test Strips for Alkaline Phosphatase in Cow’s Milk

Phosphatesmo MI is a qualitative test strip for the determination of alkaline phosphatase in cow’s milk. It is used as a valuable auxiliary for a quick check of correct pasteurization of milk. [oai_citation:2‡Instruction-90612-Qualitative-test-paper-Phosphatesmo-MI-for-Phosphatase-in-milk.pdf](sediment://file_0000000089c47243b173163570dac574)

Application
Suitable for dairy laboratories and milk processing plants for verification of pasteurization quality. A yellow coloration indicates the presence of alkaline phosphatase, which means raw milk may be present or the milk was not sufficiently heated. No coloration indicates that pasteurization was correctly completed. Pack Content
1 aluminum container with 50 test strips
50 PE bags [oai_citation:4‡Instruction-90612-Qualitative-test-paper-Phosphatesmo-MI-for-Phosphatase-in-milk.pdf](sediment://file_0000000089c47243b173163570dac574)

Detection Limit
0.5% raw milk in pasteurized milk [oai_citation:5‡Instruction-90612-Qualitative-test-paper-Phosphatesmo-MI-for-Phosphatase-in-milk.pdf](sediment://file_0000000089c47243b173163570dac574)
300 U/L alkaline phosphatase in pasteurized milk

Instructions for Use
1. Dip test strip briefly into the milk.
2. Shake off excess liquid.
3. Place the test strip in the enclosed PE bag to prevent the test pad from drying out. Use a new bag for each test to avoid cross-over contamination.
4. Incubate the test strip at 36 °C for 1 hour. [oai_citation:6‡Instruction-90612-Qualitative-test-paper-Phosphatesmo-MI-for-Phosphatase-in-milk.pdf](sediment://file_0000000089c47243b173163570dac574)

Interpretation
In the presence of alkaline phosphatase, the test field turns yellow. The incubation can then be stopped. For control measurement, use raw milk and heated milk. Yellow coloration indicates raw milk or insufficient heat treatment. No coloration indicates correct pasteurization. Storage
Avoid exposing the strips to sunlight and moisture. Keep container cool and dry at 2–8 °C. If correctly stored, the test strips may be used until the use-by date printed on the packaging.
