Principle

4MYCOSENSOR is a multiplex competitive antibody-based assay in a dipstick format for the simultaneous detection of ZEA, T-2/HT-2, DON and FB1/B2 molecules on the same single strip.4MYCOSENSOR can detect all these important mycotoxins molecules in maize, wheat and oat samples at or below their respective European maximum residue limits (MRLs).

4MYCOSENSOR is the first and unique test worldwide allowing a quadruple detection of the four main classes of mycotoxins on the same strip.

The convenient dipstick format makes testing easy, accurate and cost-effective. The test can be used in-situ for daily checks or in laboratories for analysis of series of cereal samples.

Benefits

  1. Multiple — 4 detections in one single test
  2. Rapid — Results in less than 30 minutes
  3. Sensitive — Low limits of detection (80% of EU MRLs)
  4. User-friendly — Easily performed on site or in the lab and single extraction
  5. Instrumental measurement
  6. Reliable and robust
  7. Cost-Effective
  8. Ecological packaging

Good to Know

Fusarium species are plant pathogens commonly associated with cereals that, under favourable environmental conditions, can produce several secondary toxic metabolites. Fusarium toxins are widely distributed in the food chain in the EU and the major sources for their dietary intake are cereal products, mainly based on wheat and maize. The major Fusarium toxins found in cereals and cereal-based products that can be harmful to both human and animal health are deoxynivalenol (DON), T-2 toxin (T-2), HT-2 toxin (HT-2), zearalenone (ZEA) and fumonisins (FB1, FB2). To protect human health from exposure to these mycotoxins, the European Commission has recently established regulatory limits for DON, ZEA and fumonisins (sum of FB1 and FB2) in cereals and cereal-based foods and feeds, while permissible levels of T-2 and HT-2 are under discussion.
